Use of Search Query Report in AdWords

Use the Search terms report to see how your ads performed when triggered by actual searches within the Search Network. Identify new search terms with high potential, and add them to your keyword list. Look for search terms that aren't as relevant to your business, and add them as negative keywords. This can help you avoid spending money showing your ad to people who aren't interested in it.
The difference between a search query and a keyword
A search query is the exact word or set of words a customer enters when searching on Google.com or one of our Search Network sites. A keyword is the word or set of words AdWords advertisers create for a given ad group to target your ads to customers.

How to check Search Query Report?
Google AdWords:
To generate your AdWords search query report:
1.      Click the Campaigns tab.
2.      Click the Keywords tab.
3.      Click the Details button.
4.      Select All from the drop-down.
5.      Click the download button to export the data.
Yahoo/Bing AdWords:
To generate your Bing Ads search terms report:
  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. Select Search Terms under Performance from the Report type drop-down.
  3. Include “Delivered match type,” “Keyword” & “Search query” from Choose your columns.
The main reason to use search query report is to improve our campaign performance in terms of CTR, keywords quality score, Avg position, bidding…etc.

Formulas for Internet Advertisers Always Should Keep in Mind.



CPM Calculation:
Cost = CPM x (Impressions/1000)
CPM = Cost x 1000/Impressions

CPC Calculation:
Cost = CPC x Number of Clicks
CPC = Cost / Number of Clicks

CTR Calculation:
CTR = (Number of clicks / Number of Impressions) x 100

CR Calculation:
CR = (Number of Conversions / Impressions) x 100

CPA Calculation:
Cost = CPA x (Impression x CTR x CR)
CPA = Cost / (impressions x CTR x CR)
Avg CPA = Avg CPC / CR

CPA = CPL / CR
NP = VPA – CPA

CPV Calculation:
CPV = Total Cost / Number of Total Visits

eCPM Calculation:
eCPM = (Total Cost / impressions )x1000

NP = CPC – eCPC

How to Optimize Your SlideShare Content for SEO

If a piece of SlideShare content features on the first page of Google search results (as shown in the screenshot above), there are definitely some strong keywords in play. Where should you feature these keywords? How do you ensure that search engines understand and are able to determine which keywords represent your SlideShare content? Here are the answers:

    Title: First and foremost, you must optimize the title of your content for SEO. Include keywords in the title. It has been observed that SlideShare posts return in search results for long-tail keywords. So make sure you have a prominent long-tail keyword in the title of the document, PDF, presentation or video that you upload on SlideShare.

    Tags: You can add more than 10 tags. These will help people use the internal search function to find your content. It is not known if this information is also indexed by search engines but it is important nevertheless.
    Description: Keywords should be included in the description of your SlideShare content.

    Anchor Texts/Hyperlinked URLs: You can include links within your content, for example, a link on every slide of your presentation. A SlideShare SEO test shows that hyperlinked URLs are better for search engine indexing as compared to anchor text. So, include URLs that start with an http:// and hyperlink them to the desired landing page rather than hyperlinking text content.

As an additional tip, you could benefit by naming the file (PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Video) with the title containing the keywords.

Know Few Life Lessons from Azim Premji









Azim Premj, the fourth richest person in India, is credited for diversifying Wipro, which was originally a manufacturer of vegetable and refined oils in Amalner, district Jalgaon in Maharashtra. The 69 year old business tycoon took charge at a young age of 21 and since then has been imparting many of the lessons he learnt during his career with India's youth. BI India puts together 5 life lessons that every budding entrepreneur can learn from him.

Know Your Strength
While it is important to know one's weaknesses, it is equally important to know one's strengths as well. Azim Premji has followed this throughout his life and turned what was then a $2 million hydrogenated cooking fat company into the $ 7 billion company, with a presence in 60 countries. At an event organized by AIMA and Bombay Management Association, he had said that it important to cherish the good in us because it is only our strengths that helps us correct our weaknesses.

Stay Grounded
Every entrepreneur can become successful. But what is important is to not let success go to your head. Or so says Premji. He has always advised young entrepreneurs to remain down to earth because the moment one lets success get into the head, he is already on his way to failure. He has also stressed on the fact that failure is as much a natural phenomenon as success is. So, when you encounter failure, always learn your lessons and move on!

The 69 year old philanthropist believes change is inevitable. And so he advises everyone to develop their own early warning system, which sets the alarm and prepares one for the changes ahead. He believes 'being forewarned is being forearmed' even when things are going right.

Premji has time and again emphasized on the need for sticking to values because he firmly believes that success in business eventually but inevitably follows.
